Will Smith has been teasing the upcoming sequel to I Am Legend, in which Michael B. Jordan is set to star alongside him.
Smith, 53, played scientist Robert Neville in the first film and will be teaming up with the Black Panther actor, 35, in the sequel.
On Saturday, March 5, Smith teased the announcement with a post on Instagram, in which he shared an eerie image of a deserted New York street.

Speaking to ET, he suggested that Michael B. Jordan helped devise the idea.
'I can't talk about it yet. But it's a really, really cool concept and he was a part of creating the idea,' Smith told ET’s Denny Directo at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Monday, March 7.
'It was one of those ones I was gonna leave alone, and then I heard the idea,' Smith added. 'But that might work. I think we can do that.'

The as-yet-untitled sequel is currently thin on the ground in terms of plot details, with its director also yet to be confirmed.
However, Deadline reports that the film is set to see the return of Akiva Goldsman, the screenwriter behind the 2007 original.
This will be the first time that Smith and Jordan have worked together on a film.

However, following the news of a sequel, some fans seem a bit confused as to how it's going to work.
In the first film – spoiler alert – it appears that Smith's character dies.
Fans have, however, pointed out that there's also an alternative ending in which he manages to escape death.
One user wrote: 'Didn't Will Smith sacrifice himself so that chick & her kid could escape with the cure? How is there a sequel involving Will Smith if the cure got to the outpost & he's dead in the original ending? Does this mean the alternate ending is the official canon to this movie?'

Another fan replied: 'There is an alternate ending where he left too. It's on the DVD.'
Meanwhile, Smith has been nominated for an Oscar for his role as Venus and Serena Williams’ father, Richard, in King Richard.
'This is a beautiful one,' the Bel-Air producer said. 'With Saniyya [Sidney] and Demi [Singleton] you know, these two brand new bright-eyed young actresses.'

He added: 'To be able to have this opportunity to walk together through this journey, Aunjanue [Ellis] and I found just magic that we were able to capture for posterity and on top of it, the family approves. This is all three-pointers, we shooting all threes.'
