People are unsettled after seeing Zach Galifianakis without a beard in his latest movie role.
Well known as Alan from The Hangover movies trilogy, the actor is starring in the new Apple TV+ movie The Beanie Bubble. Take a look for yourself:
The comedy-drama tells the story of the creation of America’ 90’s and early 00’s toy obsession; Beanie Babies.

But one thing already to note from the newly released trailer is that the 53-year-old lead actor has gone beardless for the movie which co-stars Elizabeth Banks.
Galifianakis is usually pretty distinctive for his full beard in roles such as Alan or as Ethan in 2010’s Due Date or Jeff in 2016’s Keeping Up with the Joneses.
So fans are now feeling almost a little disturbed at the sight of him without his thick facial hair and a totally clean shaven face to play the Beanie Baby top man, Ty Warner.

One wrote on Twitter: “Mankind was not meant to see Zach Galifianakis without a beard.”
Another joked in reaction: “Zach Galifianakis looks like John Goodman without a beard.”
With one even writing: “Beardless Galifianakis feels like something we weren’t meant to see… that’s so f**ked up.”
They even added later: “This is the burden of being a bearded guy, it’s our cross to bear. If I suddenly shaved all my beard off I expect people would look at me with disgust, with malice. They’d hide if they saw me walking down the street.”

And others said: “I genuinely cannot bear to look at him like that.”
Although, it’s worth noting that Galifianakis has stripped himself of the beard in the past.
Back in 2012 for the role of Marty Huggins in The Campaign alongside Will Ferrell he ditched the beard and instead just sported a thick tache.

But it seems his The Beanie Bubble hairless-look is too much for some fans who say they don’t even recognise him. One even joked: “Y’know this is making me realize I don’t actually know what his face looks like you can just show me any guy with a beard and say ‘that’s Zach Galifianakis’ and I’d be like ‘yep there he is!’”
The new film sharing ‘the crazy behind the craze’ also stars Succession’s Sarah Snook and Blockers’ Geraldine Viswananthan.
The official synopsis calls it: “An inventive story about what and who we value, and the unsung heroes whose names didn't appear on the heart-shaped tag.”
The Beanie Bubble will be released on Apple TV+ on 28 July 2023.
