Gaming has had to deal with scalpers for so long, but Japan may have the perfect solution to ensure fans can get their hands on the PS5 Pro.
Nothing beats being able to get your hands on the latest release and settling in for a long gaming sesh. But for some gamers, this has become infinitely more difficult over the years.
Due simply to the money-hungry pest that is scalpers.

Scalpers are essentially people who buy new products in bulk in hopes to drive up scarcity, so that people will have no choice but to come to them and buy from them at ridiculous prices.
This essentially happened globally when it came to the PS5, which released in 2020.
Some fans simply had to wait to get their hands on the console, while others admitted to biting the bullet and paying almost twice as much to get their hands on the latest console of the generation.

It seems the Japanese division of Sony isn’t letting this happen a second time around, however.
With the upcoming release of the PS5 Pro - a more powerful version of the playstation console - people hoping to cop the machine will have to do a little bit more.
Those who wish to secure a pre-order of the console - which is set to release on November 7 of this year - will have to essentially prove they are gamers.

They will must have at least 30 hours of playtime on the PS4 or PS5 before they can pre-order. Which delightfully makes things a lot harder for scalpers who don’t actually game and are only after a quick buck.
Unfortunately this doesn’t apply to all version of the PS5 pro but rather the 30th Anniversary themed edition, which is likely going to sell like mad since it is in the color scheme of the original PlayStation.
This move has been proved widely popular on social media as gamers are equally sick and tired of scalpers.
“I was thinking about this the other day. Sounds like a smart idea,” one user wrote, as another commented: "I love it. Scalpers are terrible for the gaming community."

“That’s actually smart. Respect the loyalty,” a third wrote.
“F**k scalpers opportunistic selfish c****. I still remember how much I suffered trying to buy ps5 cuz of them,” one frustrated fan added.
While many people are praising the company, others admit they do wish this strategy was employed worldwide. But all the same, it is a start, lets hope it makes a difference.
