A Justin Timberlake fan 'missed an opportunity of a lifetime' all because she was distracted by her phone.

I think we can all agree that cell phones are a concert are one of the most annoying things.

In fact, some have called for phones to be banned from concerts altogether with this in mind; jsut a few years ago, rock band Placebo had requested that fans kept their phones in their bags during their 2022 UK tour.

"Dear Placebo fans, we would like to kindly ask you NOT to spend the concert filming or taking photos with your mobile phones," they penned on social media at the time.

"It makes Placebo’s performance so much more difficult. More difficult to connect with you and to communicate effectively the emotions of the songs. It is also disrespectful to your fellow concert-goers who want to watch the show, not the back of your phone."

And their point was most definitely proven during one of Justin Timberlake's recent gigs.

In a now-viral video that's doing the rounds online, Timberlake is seen approaching a front-row fan and singing to her, but she was completely unaware of the superstar just inches away from her because she was too busy playing on her phone.

She was so infatuated with whatever was on her device that it wasn't until a fellow music fan tapped her on the arm to alert her to the fact that Timberlake was directly in front of her.

By the time she looked up, the moment had passed and the 'Cry Me A River' singer walked away.

People have since reacted to the rather awkward moment online.

"She just missed an opportunity of a lifetime," one person penned on Twitter.

"I love how he waited for her to look up and then just walked off," said another.

Someone else argued: "Come to an event to watch your phone and you are bound to miss some good moments."

"This is why you just put your phones away, ppl dont enjoy the moments anymore [sic]," added a different person.

Elsewhere, someone noted that the fan in question is likely to have paid a pretty penny for front row tickets to see Timberlake, all for her to have missed a rare moment to interact with the 43-year-old pop star.

What do you think? Should cell phones be banned at concerts to prevent moments like this from happening?
