Trace Cyrus has been labeled 'embarrassing' and 'jealous' for launching an attack on Katy Perry, who he claims has been 'copying' his sister Miley Cyrus' career
The 36-year-old took to Instagram to claim that the 'California Gurls' singer has been copying Miley's career in a brutal 50-second video, which he captioned 'Didn’t work.. try again', where he imitates the 40-year-old and her publicists.
He said: "I first knew Katy Perry and her team were lame as f**k when her crew was first dying and they were like, 'hmm what can we do? What worked for Miley? She cut her hair off and it broke the internet and everyone freaked out and she bleached it blonde, we should do that with you Katy'.

"Katy's like, 'yeah, yeah we should, should we do it like slightly different?'. 'No, we're gonna do it exactly the same. And also Miley started working with Mike WiLL Made-it, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J. Remember Js On My Feet?'
"'You know she started the transition doing more hip-hop stuff, we're gonna get you in with the hottest group the Migos, you're gonna do exactly what the f**k Miley did and blow up'."
Trace continued: "Guess what it didn't f***ing work and then they just tried some EDM [electronic dance music] song or some s*** because EDM's hot - it didn't f***ing work.

"Now, we're going to send your a** to space - didn't f***ing work! It's not working, it's backfiring. Stop!"
It comes as Perry received backlash for her reaction to returning to Earth after she embarked on the first all-women space expedition, which lasted all of 11 minutes.
After stepping out of the shuttle, the 'Dark Horse' hitmaker kissed the ground - with people claiming it was the ultimate insult to Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, the NASA astronauts that were stranded in space for nine months before their return last month.
Anyway, back to it. Fans of Perry and Miley were seemingly in agreement about Trace's video, which seemed uncalled for.

One typed: "Miley would be very upset ab this…" as another wrote: "Why do you want to put Katy against Miley? The two have always been friends, they have always supported each other, we Miley fans disagree with you."
A third penned: "What's the need for this ??"

While a fourth questioned the need for the video, commenting: "Why are you trying to put two women against each other that literally have zero beef? One of those people is your literal sister.
"Katy is doing just fine and so is Miley why try to compare the two for literally no reason other than you had a thought pop into your mind and felt the need to share it."
Trace, who's a musician himself with over 12,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, replied: "Because I can say and do whatever I feel like on my page and my observation of something obvious to everyone has nothing to do with anyone else but me because I said it. Get over it babe."

While he responded to another comment, which read: "Sounds like jealousy," Trace said: "Sounds like an observation that any average person with knowledge of pop culture could make."
Another then typed: "I’m embarrassed for you," to which he replied: "No your[sic] not. Your projecting your insecurities onto me because of your insignificance in this world."
