Ticketmaster issues urgent warning for Beyoncé fans ahead of Cowboy Carter tour

Thousands of people are gearing up to get tickets to see Beyoncé

As fans prepare for battle stations to bag themselves tickets for Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter' tour, Ticketmaster has urged fans to be wary.

Queen B will return to the stage for the first time in 18 months in April, kicking off her tour in Los Angeles at the SoFi Stadium.

Pre-sale tickets for the 43-year-old's US and Europe tour go on sale today (February 11) at 12.00pm local time to the venue - meaning tickets have already been purchased for fans hoping to see the star in Paris, France, and London, England.

While general sale for the star's tour of her 2024 album Cowboy Carter will be active from 12.00pm on Friday (February 14), again that's 12.00pm local time to the venue you're hoping to scoop tickets for.

Ticketmaster scam explained

Let's get into what this scam is that Ticketmaster has felt the need to issue an urgent warning over for fans hoping to land a ticket to one of Beyoncé's shows.

It's called speculative listing and it occurs when unofficial sellers list tickets for sale before they even have them in their possession, be it physically or virtually.

They are hoping they'll land tickets from either general or pre-sale, which they then resell for more.

"People claiming to sell these tickets are committing fraud and this practice is illegal in many states," Ticketmaster said.

How to spot a 'speculative listing'

To save you wasting money, Ticketmaster explains that if there are tickets up for grabs from resellers before they have officially gone on sale to the public, then those 'are not real tickets that the seller actually owns'.

It continued: "The latest practice in spec ticketing is unofficial sellers speculatively listing codes for ticket sales. Only Ticketmaster can issue codes. They can’t be purchased or transferred. Each access code is unique to an individual account. Do not trust anyone selling a code – it will not work."

Adding: "To fight speculative ticketing together, we recommend you always purchase from official sources during official onsale time.

"If you’re buying resale tickets after the official general ticket sale period ends, only purchase from trusted resellers that only sell verified resale tickets, like Ticketmaster."

Where will Beyoncé be performing on tour?

As mentioned earlier, the singer will kick things off in LA on April 28 and will play the same venue for four nights, before traveling to Chicago for May 15 and performing for three nights.

On May 22, those on the east coast will get to enjoy her in New Jersey for four nights, before flying to London for six nights - her first being on June 5.

A trip across the English Channel and into France will take place for three night in Paris, opening on June 19, before traveling back across the Atlantic to Houston, Texas, where she'll play two nights from June 28.

Washington DC will host the record 35-time Grammy winner on Independence Day (July 4), with a second date set for July 7, before concluding the tour in Atlanta, Georgia - with the last date being July 13.
