Jackson 5 star Tito Jackson shared some uncanny thoughts about how he'd die just weeks before he passed away of an apparent heart attack.

Jackson was 70-years-old when he died on Sunday (September 15), but he was still keeping busy by putting on shows with his brothers, Jackie Jackson and Marlon Jackson, as their group The Jacksons.

The group had performed as recently as September 8, prompting his family to describe his death as a 'shock'.

A post shared on Instagram by Jackson's sons, Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson, read: "We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their wellbeing.

"He will be missed tremendously. It will forever be 'Tito Time" for us.

"Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is 'Love One Another.' We love you Pops."

The fact Jackson was still performing just days before his death fell in line with comments he'd made about the end of his life just weeks earlier, when he sat down for an interview with The Mirror.

During the chat, Jackson shared his hopes that he would be actively involved in music until his final days, saying: "I plan to be like BB King play music until I die. Like Frank Sinatra or Sammy Davis Jr or Dean Martin. It's fun, it's peace of mind, it's pleasure. I think, for an artist, music extends their lives."

The Jacksons had plans to perform in New Jersey and Ohio in the coming months, and Jackson was also looking forward to his 71st birthday party in October.

"We are going to play some good music, do some dancing and have a party," he told The Mirror.

Sadly Jackson didn't make it to his 71st birthday, but he lives on in his surviving friends and family members, many of who paid tribute to the singer in the wake of his death.

Michael Jackson's children, Prince and Paris Jackson, both remembered their uncle in posts shared online.

Paris shared a picture of Jackson, writing: “Rest in transition, Uncle Tito."

In his own post, Prince wrote: "Love you forever Poppa T."

Underneath Prince's post, Jackson's son, TJ, commented: “He always spoke so highly about you Prince and was so proud of the man you have become and your love for family. Thank you for being such a great nephew to him."

Jackson is also survived by his three sisters, four brothers, and their mother, Katherine.
