Slipknot have finally revealed the identity of their newest member, the percussionist known as Tortilla Man.
He joined the metal band back in 2019, replacing backing vocalist and percussionist Chris Fehn. His namesake came courtesy of his rather strange mask; more specifically, its resemblance to a tortilla.
Much speculation has surrounded his true identity, with Maggots analysing photos, autographs and other clues, such as guitarist Jim Root describing him as a 'world-class pianist' and 'a great percussionist' who is 'schooled in music'.
The secret is out: Michael Pfaff, who formerly played with Shawn 'Clown' Crahan in Dirty Little Rabbits, is the Tortilla Man.

Slipknot confirmed his identity through a photo shared on Instagram, showing the percussionist holding a note which reads: 'I AM MICHAEL PFAFF.'
The post was also captioned 'You've been warned' and announced a Reddit Ask Me Anything ahead of the band's Knotfest Roadshow Tour.
When asked how it felt to watch fans try to figure out who he was, he wrote: 'It was the best. Watching it all unfold was amazing. The theories, the detectives. amazing.'
Another fan asked how difficult it was to conceal his identity, to which Pfaff wrote: 'It was pretty hard. These days everybody is on the internet and has a phone... you could tell a person at the grocery store and the next thing you know it's on the internet. I flew to LA twice before my wife even knew.'

As for when he first learned about Slipknot's existence, he revealed: 'I literally remember being in the restroom in 1998 and seeing an article about the band in the Des Moines Register.
'I am an Iowan, so I knew what was up.'
Pfaff could only vaguely describe how ended up joining the band.

'The short answer is I got a phone call while I was working my day job. The story is pretty epic and I hope to share it soon,' he wrote.
Similarly, he couldn't delve too far into the origins of his Tortilla Man mask.
'That story will come out as well. Short answer, it was a mould of my face flipped inside out,' he wrote.
When asked why the band decided to keep his identity anonymous, Pfaff wrote: 'I guess it's part of our thing. It was like wearing a mask.

'Everybody would want to shout from the rooftops that 'I'm in Slipknot'... but how bad do you want it? Bad enough to not tell anybody? Yes.'
