A Twitch streamer has been branded 'out of touch' after he claimed the average salary was $100,000.
Adin Ross is one of the biggest names in the world on the gaming platform, and is regularly joined by some famous guests.
But it seems that moving in the same circles as the rich and famous may have distorted his view of the world and how much the average Joe earns.

Well, the popular streamer got a big dose of reality when he sat down with a fellow streamer to play NBA 2K21 and the chat turned to social mobility.
In a video that's doing the rounds on social media, the pair can be seen chatting, when the talk turns to how much people get paid.
A pretty confident Ross says: "So the average salary is what, like $100,000?"

Understandably taken aback by the generous estimate, his guest looks at him like he's lost the plot.
"Did you just hear this motherf**ker?" he gasps.
Ross goes on: "What?! What's the average salary?"
"Bro, probably like, what, 20-30k?" his streaming partner replies, to which Ross hits back: "No way. Shut the f**k up."

Gesturing towards the screen, the other streamer then says: "Are you f**king crazy. Bro, $30/$40k, bro."
Before it's cut off, the chat then turns to the fact that Ross is talking from a place of incredible wealth, despite being only 22 years old.
Just for clarity, it's estimated that the average annual salary in the US is closer to $50,000, so not quite as much as Adin thought.

According to the Bureau of Labor, in 2021, the mean salary of all occupations in the country was just over $58,260.
Figures released towards the end of last year, however, stated that the median weekly salary was $1,040, making the annual total $54,132.
And since the footage was posted online, plenty of people have commented on the streamer's apparent lack of understanding of the financial constraints that affect most people.
