An American's 'tutorial' on how to make a cup of tea has left Brits utterly horrified.

The TikToker may live in the United Kingdom but clearly they have learnt nothing during their time on British soil.

On February 5, the user decided to give an insight into just how to make a nice cup of English breakfast, unknowingly digging their own grave in the eyes of every Brit following them.

I'm still recovering from the fact that an American didn't know what a kettle was, but this 'tutorial' is truly the cherry on top.

I have never seen milk in a kettle, nor do I ever want to again, and according to TikToker @swfinds, this is the first step of making a cup of 'British tea'.

They may have clarified that it is 'not iced tea,' but I would argue that's certainly not a 'British tea' either.

Adding salt to the wound, the user then proceeds to add sugar, the tea bag, and some bottled water, before turning on the 'electric British kettle,' with the instruction 'boil a lot until creamy'.

Topping it off entirely is the decision to use a 'mug' which is just so far from the usual haphazard selection of crockery adorned in slogans or animal faces which is normally found in the average British household's cupboard, and the addition of even more sugar.

The post has since amassed over one million views, leaving Brits in utter outrage. One said: 'My therapist gunna need a therapist after this one.'

Another wrote: '*cry's in British*'

A third commented: 'Thank you, you even traumatized my therapist. had to get a new one. then you traumatised him too. now I'm banned from therapy.'

Alas, this is not the first time Americans and Brits have revealed just how different they are over TikTok, after an American woman revealed she didn't know what a towel rail was, alongside giving an interesting pronunciation of a much-loved British condiment.

A woman from the US also took to the platform to share the differences between an order at fast food chain KFC in America compared to the UK.
