Angela White has opened up about when she first realised she wanted to get into the adult film industry.

White is one of Australia's most well known adult film stars with 932 million views on PornHub - having won 97 awards for her performances and three AVN Female Performer of the Years.

She's also amassed nine million Instagram followers and 2.5 million Twitter followers after starting out in her career in 2003.

The 37-year-old first knew she wanted to pursue a career in the adult film industry at the young age of 14 years old. But why did she decide to become a porn star?

On Australian podcast The Hook Up, presenter Dee Salmin asked White what first sparked the idea of a career in the adult film industry.

White then explained that she was 'really fascinated with sex' when growing up.

She continued: "As a teenager, I wanted to express and explore my sexuality, and every way I did that was deemed inappropriate so I was teased in high school, I was sl*t-shamed. It was actually a really horrible time for me.

"But pornography was the first place I saw women celebrated for expressing and exploring their sexuality. So once I looked at porn, I was like this is something that I want to do."

When questioned by Salmin what age she was when she came to that realisation, White explained: "I was 14. Yeah, so that was 14. I didn't get into the porn industry until 18 obviously, that's the legal age.

"But it was actually great, because I had four years to really think about the pros and cons, whether it was actually what I wanted to do. I did a lot of research during that time - that kind of market research is very fun."

White watched 'a lot of porn' as well as following other models and actors in the industry, to gain a greater insight into working within it, figuring out how people 'went through the industry' and 'kept themselves safe' too.

"It was a really interesting time for me to explore my sexuality," she resolves.

Having decided she wanted to pursue a career in adult film at the age of 14, White was able to do four years of research into working in porn.

Once White got into the adult film industry, she described it as a 'dream come true'.

The first job she got to shoot for was based in Miami, Florida which specialised in 'big natural boobs'.

The adult film actor also notes how she went into the industry with a focus on finding companies which celebrated 'thick women'.

After completing the shoot, White flew back to Australia to finish her exams in high school, graduating and has continued her career in the porn industry ever since.
