Anti-FBI raid protest cancelled after MAGA fans were worried it was a trap

Conspiracies began to arise across pro-Trump forums that the event was being set up by the same organisation they were protesting, the FBI.

A pro-Trump and anti-raid protest that was due to take place outside of FBI headquarters has failed miserably.

The Daily Beast reported that the demonstration was set to take place over the weekend in Washington DC, however, was cancelled after conservative supporters suspected it to be a trap.

Following the FBI raid at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Flordia, supporters had decided something needed to be done to protect their beloved leader.

The protest had been heavily promoted on right-wing social media and blogs such as the Epoch Times, which reported that a veteran by the name of Adam Hardage has called for the demonstration.

However, the same publication announced it would be cancelled just a few days later.

Conspiracies began to arise across pro-Trump forums that the event was being set up by the same organisation they were protesting, the FBI.

You can’t help but laugh at MAGA supporters: their own ideas and rhetoric seem so outlandish that they start creating conspiracies against themselves.

Protests did occur outside the federal agency’s offices in Riverside and California, with approximately 50 people convening last Wednesday (August 10), which was just two days after the raid.

They came equipped with MAGA flags and hats, with signs brandishing the slogan ‘In Trump We Trust’, according to CBS.

While the physical protests were lacklustre, there has been a serious amount of online backlash towards the FBI and in particular the specific agents who raided Trump’s home.

The Independent reports that the bureau sent out an internal bulletin that read: “These threats are occurring primarily online and across multiple platforms, including social media sites, web forums, video sharing platforms, and image boards.

"The FBI and DHS would like to ensure that law enforcement, court, and government personnel are aware of the range of threats and criminal and violent incidents.”

Meanwhile, the names of two of the agents who signed the search warrant paperwork have also been circulated online and led to an ‘unprecedented’ number of threats, according to CNN.

The Daily Beast reports that Garrett Ziegler, who was part of Donald Trump’s White House staff, took to Telegram and Truth Social to reveal information such as the emails, social media accounts, and family members of the FBI agents.

He wrote on Telegram: “We have to have faces.

“There are people ruining America, and they have names, and emails, and addresses.”

The Justice Department has executed the search of the former POTUS’ home as part of an investigation into Trump’s potentially unlawful removal of White House records when he left office.
