A CFO at Bed Bath & Beyond plunged to his death from the New York skyscraper known as the 'Jenga Building', police have confirmed.
Gustavo Arnal, 52, had been working for the retail company since 2020, having previously been the chief financial officer for Avon in London.
The New York Police Department said in a statement shared with UNILAD that it received a 911 call about a man who had been found unconscious near the building.

Officials later confirmed the man to be Arnal of 56 Leonard Street. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene.
Officers didn't offer any further details into the incident, but they said the New York City Medical Examiner's Office is investigating to confirm the cause of the fatality.
The incident unfolded on Friday, 2 September, with police receiving the call at around 12.30pm ET.

The NYPD said in a statement: "On Friday, September 2, 2022 at approximately 12:30 hours police responded to a 911 call of unconscious person in the vicinity Leonard Street and West Broadway within the confines of the 1 Precinct.
"Upon arrival officers observed an unconscious and unresponsive 52-year-old male, who appeared to suffer from injuries indicative from a fall from an elevated position.
"EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
"The New York City Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing.

"The deceased has been identified as follows: Arnal, Gustavo, 52-year-old male, 56 Leonard Street, New York, NY."
UNILAD has contacted Bed Bath & Beyond for comment.
The retail store chain is an American firm that sells bedding, bathroom, kitchen and home decor.
When Arnal joined the company, a spokesperson said they were 'bringing in world class talent to offer new perspectives, expertise and experience as we rebuild our business'.

Prior to joining Bed Bath & Beyond, Arnal's LinkedIn shows he also spent 20 years in various positions at US consumer goods firm Procter & Gamble.
Last week, it was reported that Bed Bath & Beyond would be closing around 150 stores in an attempt to turn around the business.
