A college student has tragically died after being hit by a plane propeller following a date.
The Telegraph reported that the Bulloch County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Georgia Southern University college student, Sani Aliyu, died instantly after being hit in the head by the propeller of a rented Cessna.
According to reports, the student had rented the small plane while taking out an unnamed young woman.

Following a trip to Savannah, Aliyu and his date returned to Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport.
As his date exited from the back of the plane, the 21-year-old headed toward the front of the aircraft when he was struck twice by a propellor.
Coroner Jake Futch told, McClatchy News, as per The Telegraph: “[Aliyu] got out and walked toward the front. And when he did, the propeller hit him in the head, killing him instantly.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told PEOPLE in a statement that Bulloch County Emergency Medical Service immediately arrived at the scene; however, Aliyu had already died.
Spokesperson for Georgia Southern University Melanie Simón confirmed to USA TODAY that the young man was a management major at the school.
Following the news, university dean Aileen Dowell stated to the outlet via Simón: “We were deeply saddened to hear about the tragic incident that involved one of our students Sunday night.

“I have already been in touch with his family and professors and we have mobilized all available resources to provide counseling and any other assistance the university can give."
The FAA and The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will continue investigating the incident and provide updates.
Similarly, earlier this year, a Russian airport worker was instantly killed after being hit by the rotating propeller of an Antonov An-24 aircraft, as per Simple Flying.
According to the outlet, the airport ground services agent was clearing the thrust pads when he was struck at UTair airport in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

A spokesperson for the airline stated to the Russian media outlet TASS: "On August 19, at the airport of the Beloyarsk Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, after starting the engines on an An-24 aircraft preparing to fly to Berezovo, an accident occurred while clearing the thrust pads - an aircraft technician fell under the blades of a rotating propeller and received injuries incompatible with life.”
