Chilling CCTV footage shows the terrifying moment a nine-year-old girl outsmarts a man who appeared to follow her home.
The video shows the girl allegedly being followed by a man in Stupino, Russia in 2021.
The man followed the schoolgirl insider her building - but the nine-year-old was cleverly able to outsmart him.

Thankfully, the child noticed she appeared to be being followed and decided to play a trick on the man.
The eerie footage shows the girl entering an apartment building before being quickly followed by the man.

We then see the girl climbing a staircase, and before turning to the elevators she instead manages to trick the man while she is out of view and hides in a doorway.
Apparently completely unaware he had been duped by the young girl, the man walks towards the elevator.
The young girl at this point has been able to sneak herself down the stairs and back towards the front door.

And when the man leaves the building, the girl can be seen walking towards the entrance, but this time with her father.
The girl was praised by the YouTube channel Active Self Protection for being aware of her surroundings and trusting her instincts.
"First things first, parents teach their children that they are capable of defending themselves," the host in the video said.
"I think a lot of times that we don't want to scare our children and I think that's really wise and it has to be age-appropriate, of course.

"But your children do have a creep alarm that something's off and something's not right and mom and dad, you should definitely teach your children that it's okay to pay attention and to their creep alarm.
"In fact, they should. If something feels wrong, it probably is wrong and they should probably do something about it."
Metro reports that the man was detained by police, but released without charge after they determined no crime had been committed.

He was said to be a registered patient with mental health issues.
The disturbing video was also avidly discussed on Reddit, with many praising the young girl.
"This is incredibly disturbing. What amazing awareness by such a young girl," one social media user penned.
A second added: "I shall say it again: Teach your kids to CHOOSE their assistant in such circumstances. Don't wait for someone to approach them to 'offer them help.' Teach them to choose, from the crowd, the person they want to have helped them."
