Disturbing reason Donald Trump 'specifically requested' to have the Mexican border painted black

Some people have questioned whether this will actually have any kind of impact

Donald Trump has ordered a simple change at the Mexico-US border to further deter people attempting to illegally enter the nation.

Since coming back into the White House, Trump has made it clear he intends to stand on his promise to be tough on immigration, most notably illegal immigration into the nation.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem praised Trump for his latest move and spoke to the press at the southern border in New Mexico on August 19.

Noem noted that the wall currently attempted to deter people seeking to go over or under the walls due to its height however they would be going one step further to prevent people coming over the top with the latest change.

She noted that the wall will be painted black and added that this was at Trump’s request.

She said: “That is specifically at the request of the president, who understands that in the hot temperatures down here when something is painted black it gets even warmer and it will make it even harder for people to climb. So we are going to be painting the entire southern border wall black to make sure that we encourage individuals to not come into our country illegally.”

Playing things up for the camera, she even grabbed a brush and dolloped some paint on the wall.

The general idea is that the black paint job will help absorb the heat from the sun and make it hotter to touch and ultimately more difficult to scale.

However, on social media, people have questioned the effectiveness of this move and claimed it wouldn’t have any practical difference to those trying to cross.

Some have argued that those crossing illegally will simply wear gloves, or choose to climb at night when the railings are unable to absorb the warmth from daytime sun.

Trump also praised Texas and their border patrol for their recent works preventing illegal crossing in a Truth Social post.

In the post he wrote: “CONGRATULATIONS TEXAS! The July Border Statistics are in and, once again, they are the LOWEST RECORDED NUMBERS IN UNITED STATES HISTORY. The U.S. Border Patrol reported ZERO releases of Illegal Aliens into the Country.”

They have noted that they have had fewer than 25,000 nationwide Customs and Border Protection encounters nationwide for the month of July.
