A heroic DoorDash driver leapt into action after hearing a woman screaming for help.
Not all heroes wear capes, it seems some of them deliver your food.
20-year-old Angelo Montoya was on his way to pick up his next order while working as a DoorDash driver when he noticed a woman in distress. He said he saw her attempting to deal with an aggressive man on the side of a California road last week.

Instead of driving off, Angelo decided to get involved.
As the woman and the man continued to argue on Interstate 8 at Sunset Cliffs in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego, Angelo hoped he would be able to diffuse the situation.
Unfortunately, the male aggressor then began to direct his anger towards The San Diego State sophomore instead.

“The aggressor starts targeting me, telling me to mind my business and I’m like, ‘No, she’s yelling for help,’” Montoya said, as he retold the story to CBS 8.
“’Back away from her, please. Back away or I’ll call the cops.’
“He punched me through the window on my neck,” Montoya added “That’s when I knew this is way more than I expected.”
Montoya, realizing the situation was going to go south, told the woman to get in his Tesla and he would drive her away and call 911.

After she got in, he believed that had been the end of it, however moments later, the man had chased them in his own car and pulled out in front of Montoya, blocking the road.
Montoya’s dash cam caught this moment, showing the man exiting his car and attempting to approach the duo.
The quick thinking DoorDash driver backed up and swerved the man hoping to escape again.

After being chased down a second time, the man crashed into the left side of his car, causing him to collide with parked cars on the side of the road.
“I see him behind me,” Montoya added. “I didn’t know what to expect and that’s when he rammed into my vehicle from the left, causing a lot of damage,” Montoya said of the situation.
The stranger then attempted to flee the scene but was later arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

The woman was not harmed in the incident, however Montoya told the outlet he was left with a few injuries including soreness to his neck, lowerback and calf.
He has since shed light on this instance in a GoFundMe page he has set up to help pay for his car repayments and keep up his livelihood and studies, as his car was completely totaled.
