One unlucky customer is attempting to sue the Dunkin’ Donuts franchise after quite a s**tty experience.

After going to a Dunkin’ Donuts and enjoying your morning coffee, you might joke that you are going to go blow up the toilet.

Sure its crude, but coffee does gets things going in the morning.

However, one unlucky customer had to actually deal with an exploding toilet at the franchise and quite understandably, they are less than happy about it.

In fact, they are attempting to sue the franchise.

After an incident that saw him covered in urine and feces back in January 2022, Paul Kerouac is seeking more than $100,000 from the company.

He filed the lawsuit on Wednesday (January 3) in state court in Orlando, stating he has suffered ‘severe long-term injuries’ following the explosion of a Dunkin’ Donuts toilet in Winter Park, Florida two years ago.

“Following the explosion of the toilet plaintiff emerged from the men’s room and sought assistance from employees and managers of [the] defendant’s business to clean himself, as he remained covered with human feces and urine after emerging from the men’s room,” the complaint states.

An employee told him that they were aware of a problem with the toilet as there had been previous incidents. In the lawsuit, it also stated Kerouac has required mental health care and counseling since the incident.

Kerouac has said the less than ideal incident left him suffering 'bodily injury and psychological damages', as well as 'permanent and significant emotional injury, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of medical care and treatment'.

While it might seem a tall order to try and sue the coffee and donut giant, they have paid out to customers before due to lawsuits.

A woman who claimed she suffered severe second and third-degree burns from a coffee spill after buying it at a local Dunkin' Donuts was awarded $3 million in her lawsuit.

The woman’s attorney, Benjamin Welch of Morgan & Morgan, said the incident occurred in February 2021 due to the fact that the lid of the cup was not fastened completely. The spill allegedly caused burns on her thighs, groin and abdomen.

As a result of the incident, the woman says she still struggles with day-to-day life and is required to apply creams and ointments several times a day, according to her attorney. So there is hope for Mr Kerouac yet.

UNILAD has contacted Dunkin’ Donuts for comment.
