An eight-year-old has been named 2022 Kid's Mullet Champion - yes, you read that correctly.
The news we didn't think we needed is here and the wonderful competition of one of the most iconic hairdos in history has revealed its winner.
The USA Mullet Championships begins with 688 brave contestants, who are then whittled down to just 25.

Out of the 25, only one person can take home the cash prize of a whopping $2,500 (£2,116).
Well, the boy named as Emmitt Bailey from Menomonie, Wisconsin, managed to take home the 'gold medal' in the kids’ division with 9,896 votes.
One can only hope he spends the money wisely, like on a drone or something.

"It’s cool that so many people tell you that you got sweet hair," he told BuzzFeed News.
Anyway, in second place came Epic Orta of La Joya, Texas with 8,404 votes, followed by William Dale Ramsey of Pataskala, Ohio, with 4,058 votes.
When it comes to the older age group, Cayden Kershaw from Wausau, Wisconsin, won the the teen’s division with 3,215 votes.

Second place went to Fisher Monds of Hilliard, Florida (3,196 votes), while Max Weihbrech of De Pere, Wisconsin got 1,521 votes.
The purpose of the kids' competition was to raise money for Michigan Wig Foundation for kids.
For the men's open, half of the registration fee will go to 'Stop Soldier Suicide'.
The registration for the open mullet division is open until 31 August.

Notably, half of the entry fee of $10 (£8.47) will be donated to charity.
The description reads: "The tradition lives on! We’re celebrating America’s mullets with the official USA Mullet Champs Open Division.
"Long before it was popularised by actors and rock stars in the 1980s, the mullet has been traced back to warriors in Ancient Greece. Today mullet style and mullet culture is back, bro’, and in a big way.

"Contestants must be age 19 or older. No wigs or extensions are allowed."
If there are more than 500 registrations, Mullet Champ USA says it will conduct an elimination round offline prior to the first round of Facebook voting.
