You’d probably think that being married to a billionaire would mean you’re guaranteed a decent Christmas present, but Elon Musk once completely forgot to buy his wife anything and ended up having to dig through the snow to pick some flowers. Well, they do say it’s the thought that counts, don’t they?
Musk made the romantic gesture during his marriage to British actor Talulah Riley, who was married to the billionaire twice - first from 2010 to 2012 and then again from 2013 to 2016.
Speaking on upcoming BBC documentary The Elon Musk Show about the Tesla boss, Riley opened up about a particular Christmas day which ended with Musk barefoot collecting flowers. You can check a trailer for the documentary series here:
Riley said: "It was one of the bad Christmases. He'd forgotten to get me a Christmas present. There's loads and loads of snow."

Rather than try and cover up his mistake, Musk admitted that he’d forgotten to buy her a present, telling Riley: "It's not that I don't love you – I do really, really love you. It's just that my brain is exploding."
But exploding brain or not, the billionaire later ‘got up in the middle of the night and disappeared’ only to return with a handpicked gift.
"He came back two hours later and he'd gone outside in his T-shirt and shorts, barefoot, and he'd gone and dug through the snow and picked flowers,” the actor recalled.

"He'd walked all over Boulder [Colorado, where the couple lived] and came back with a little bouquet of picked flowers, and he was like 'I just wanted to show you how much I loved you'.” Ahh, isn’t that sweet?
Although the couple have divorced twice, there’s clearly no hard-feelings between the pair, with Riley previously referring to him as a ‘great friend’.
And in the acknowledgements for her book The Quickening Riley thanks Musk for being ‘the perfect ex-husband’.
And in an interview with the Independent earlier this year, said: “He’s a great friend. He looks out for me. We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have here utmost love for him.”

While in an interview with The Sunday Times she said: “I love Elon fiercely and always will, not necessarily in an intense, romantic way but in a broad ‘he’s my family’ way.”
