Elon Musk’s ex-wife Justine Wilson has said she’s ‘proud’ of their 18-year-old trans daughter who recently decided to change her name because she ‘no longer wants to live with or be related to her biological father in any way, shape or form’.
Now wanting to be legally known as Vivian Jenna Wilson, Musk and Wilson’s daughter filed to have her name changed this month.
On Monday (20 June) night, Wilson seemingly responded to her daughter’s decision to distance herself from Musk, writing on Twitter: “‘I had a weird childhood,’ my 18 year old said to me. ‘I can’t believe I’m as normal-seeming as I am.’ I said, ‘‘I’m very proud of you’.”
UNILAD has approached Musk and Wilson for comment.

Musk and Canadian author Wilson were married from 2000 to 2008 and share five children.
Court documents obtained earlier this week by TMZ revealed Vivian listed the following reason for wanting to change her name: "Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."
So far, neither the SpaceX founder or his child have publicly spoken about their relationship, rift, or Vivian's transition.

Back in 2010, Wilson opened up about her and Musk’s ‘messy’ divorce, writing in a Marie Claire article that she was his ‘starter wife’.
Wilson penned: “[Towards the end of our marriage] I barely recognised myself. I had turned into a trophy wife.”
Wilson also revealed that as their marriage broke down, she was given an ultimatum by Musk, who did agree to couple’s therapy but wanted an immediate fix.
She wrote: “Elon agreed to enter counselling, but he was running two companies and carrying a planet of stress.

“One month and three sessions later, he gave me an ultimatum: Either we fix this marriage today or I will divorce you tomorrow, by which I understood he meant, Our status quo works for me, so it should work for you. He filed for divorce the next morning. I felt numb, but strangely relieved.”
She added at the time: “Although I am estranged from Elon — when it comes to the children, I deal with his assistant — I don't regret my marriage [...] I will always respect the brilliant and visionary person that he is.”
