Let’s be honest, a perfectly clean and tidy McDonald’s is a rare sight on a busy shift.
Late night eaters might swing by their local for some nuggets and a Diet Coke, sometimes after a night of drinking and often bring the chaos with them.
As anyone who has worked in the fast-food industry will know, there might be the occasional knocked over drink, dropped burger bun or maybe spilled ketchup, but people aren’t typically going out of their way to make a mess.

But these customers seemed to have wrecked havoc at an Australian branch of McDonald’s.
Seen in a now-viral TikTok, this restaurant in Melbourne is a total mess.
Not only is there general trash covering the tables, but food scraps and spilled soda coating the floor.
A trash can sits at the end of the room, over-flowing with McDonald’s garbage, while empty food boxes seem to completely outnumber actual people - there's even rogue KFC lying about.

In the video, a customer even picks up their cup of frozen drink and really goes for a long throw across the room.
Unsurprisingly, this just spills all over the place and joins a load of other empty cups on the wasteland.
Laughing is heard in the background as one customer seems to look relatively (and understandably) disgusted by the mess surrounding them.

I mean, who wants to enjoy their Filet-O-Fish while a Big Mac is smashed on the floor around you?
One guy stands up, looking all angry and glares at the man who threw his drink across the room.
And he’s not the only annoyed one, as many viewers are furious that people would create such a mess in the sacred land of McDonald’s.

A user wrote: “Disgusting. Some people have no respect. Poor Maccas workers.”
With many agreeing: “Honestly that’s disgusting, I feel sorry for the workers that have to deal with this.”
Another even called the behaviour ‘some rat hood s**t’.
Others say there’s no excuse for the mess, as they wrote: “Oh please!! We’ve all had nights out that have ended at Maccas, we never EVER left it looking like this.

"Little respect goes a long way!”
One also put: “This is actually feral. Even when I’ve been in an absolute state I’ve never been a pig and left my mess everywhere.”
And a user (very fairly) said: “Would have been lights out if that coke ruined my Jordans.”
I definitely wouldn’t want to be in that place in a fresh pair of sneakers.
McDonald's Australia told UNILAD: "At McDonald’s, we are committed to giving our customers a great experience every time they visit one of our restaurants.
"McDonald’s has a zero-tolerance policy for anti-social behaviour and expect our restaurants, people and customers to be treated with respect and decency at all times.
"We follow strict cleaning, sanitisation, and hygiene procedures in all restaurants, including routine dining room cleaning. We are working with the restaurant to ensure we continue to provide a safe and clean restaurant, and a great customer experience."
