A restaurant has been slammed after being caught charging customers a 'card processing fee' despite them paying with cash.
Here in the US, tipping culture in restaurants and the hospitality industry is certainly a huge thing, with many delivery drivers and similar service workers often expecting a minimum tip.
Unfortunately, these extra charges can result in a bit of conflict, with a perfect example being the delivery driver who got sacked after launching a verbal attack on a customer for not tipping enough.
Now, one restaurant has been slammed after charging customers a card processing fee, despite the fact they ended up paying with cash.

To be honest, card processing fees are quite rare these days, especially considering the amount of people who use only card these days.
So, it is understandable why one particular customer was left far from impressed after being charged such a fee despite paying the bill with the cash.
Taking to Reddit, the anonymous customer of the New York Deli in Richmond posted the receipt of her recent grub, which came to a total of $19.14.

The usual tax is part of that subtotal, as well as a 2 percent card processing fee that came to 38 cents.
The customer wrote: "I was handed my tab and gave them $30 cash and told them to keep the change. I’ve worked in bars for years so I try to tip well.
"It wasn’t until after that I saw the processing fee that shouldn’t apply to me. Granted, it’s ¢38, so not exactly worth getting upset about, but when I asked about it I was told they have to manually remove that if asked to.
"I’m disappointed because I try to pay cash whenever possible because f**k having bartenders and servers get taxed on cash tips."

Many have flocked to the comments of the Reddit post and it's safe to the majority are not best pleased with the extra charge added on by the restaurant.
"So, the business is ripping people off in hopes that no one will bother to have to ask to have it removed? What a garbage, slimy a** thing to do," one Redditor penned.
A second added: "I deliberately only use cash in bars and restaurants, never plastic. And I tip well. I'd be p*ssed as hell for this to be automatically added to my bill."

While a third remarked: "I would question this, if I were you."
