If you’ve ever had a bad day and hoped that someone would make it better, did you include your favourite restaurant chain in those scenarios?
After one man found that his birthday wasn’t all it had been cracked up to be, an unlikely hero came to save the day.
Now, they are being praised for a simple act of kindness.

So, what did they do?
According to Jason, who lives in New York and posted the story to Reddit, all they did was honour his - admittedly pretty bizarre - request.
Posting it to the r/MadeMeSmile forum under the username u/Jmklein17, he wrote: ”I had a c***py birthday but my local pizza place had my back."
True to its word, the picture he shared did in fact make me smile.

Posting his order receipt and pizza, it showed his strange request on the instructions section.
The instruction read: "It's my birthday and not even my family called me. I'm sad and I really like olives.
"Please put on as many black olives as you can. I want you to put on so many black olives that you start to question mine and your own sanity.

"As much as you can include without being fired. Thank you."
What he may not have expected though, was for his wish to be granted along with a pretty cool drawing of a birthday cake.
That’s a pizzeria I’d want to stick to.
I mean, the picture speaks for itself. They certainly gave him enough black olives.

The man went on to tell Newsweek: "[I] didn't get any birthday wishes from my friends or family so I ordered myself a pizza that was admittedly way too expensive.
"I wasn't sure what to expect, but they really went above and beyond on the pizza—even gave me an extra container of olives on the side in case it wasn't enough. It was very sweet and definitely made my day a little better."
So, who granted his birthday wish?

The NYC pizza house is Norbert's Pizza in Brooklyn, and Reddit users were charmed by the pizzeria's response.
One person wrote: "Happy birthday.
"My olive your wishes come true."
Another commented: "You're 'oliviously' an awesome person. Happy birthday."
Love the puns!
Someone else said: "Happy birthday OP, from one vegan olive fanatic to another."
Jason went on to explain that it was only after reading a similar post about how someone requested ‘as many pickles as you can without getting fired,’ that he decided to give it a shot too.
He said: "I wanted to ask something similar to see what their response would be, and they definitely delivered.”
"I talked to the guy who posted it originally and we both think it's hilarious how both posts got so big.
"Hopefully, we've inspired some other people to make some of their own orders with similar wording, maybe even start a trend, who knows!"
