A mom has said she is 'pressing charges' against a school after her child was served a hamburger which is a trypophobic's worst nightmare.

Look, did any of us really ever eat a lunch in school that we truly enjoyed? Personally, all I remember is nearly choking up a mouthful of stew after I swallowed half a piece of beef but it was left dangling down by throat, suspended by a string of fat connected to the other half which remained in my mouth. Delightful.

Granted, that was slightly my own fault but the meal was definitely not a joy to eat in the first place, however, this piece of beef was identified as problematic before the consumer took their first bite.

If you have a fear of closely packed holes, you should probably turn away now.

The evidence

A user named @thatscrazy_64 took to TikTok to share images of a school lunch which was served up to them.

The item in question is described as being a cheeseburger, however, once you look at it, it's up to you whether you deem it worthy of such a title - the content comes with a trypophobia warning for a reason - trypophobia a strong fear of closely packed holes.

The TikTok user claims their school 'served' the 'cheeseburger' up to them one lunchtime, but after their family saw their photographs of it they decided to 'press charges' against the school for the state the burger - specifically the patty - was in.

And here's what went down.

It's not hard to see why it's been nicknamed the 'barnacle burger'.

The argument

The TikToker then shares a screenshot of an email sent by their mom to the county board of the school.

The email states: "I hope this letter finds you well. [...] On 12/12 during lunchtime, I discovered a burger patty in my child's meal that was inedible and appeared to be one of the most disgusting food items I have ever seen serve ANYWHERE."

While it's likely the patty was simply grilled from frozen opposed to being literally 'inedible', the mom continues: "The patty had a foul smell and an unpleasant texture, the burger looked like it was made out of rubber, this raised serious concerns for me as a parent.

"This incident not only affected my child's/ student's lunch experience but also raises concerns about the amount of students who unknowingly ATE THIS VERY LUNCH."

The mom resolves she 'will be pressing charges' against the school 'due to the lack of food regulations being put in place'.

She adds: "I believe it is crucial to ensure that the food provided in our school meets the necessary standards of quality, freshness, and safety. I look forward to speaking with you in court."

It doesn't look toooo awful from certain angles.

The response

The school board replied, apologizing to 'hear about' the student's 'bad lunch experience'.

It noted it's received 'many complaints' about food quality, but does 'not see any issues with the food being served'.

It argued that while 'there is a slight discoloration with the meat, it is still edible'.

The board concluded: "If you or your daughter have an issue with the lunch being served, don't eat it. Packing a lunch is still an option."

And sure enough, it's not taken long for the post to go viral and social media users to weigh in.

The TikToker resolved the burger is 'your sign to stop eating school lunch'.

The reaction

One user said: "The fact that not many are aware of barnacle burger, they should've not served it to prevent issues."

"I have trypopobia and I don't eat meat... I'm currently crying," another added.

A third commented: "I don't have trypophobia but I'm gagging cause hell naw."

However, a fourth wrote: "'Packing lunch is still an option' IS SO FUNNY THO OMG THEY ATE W THAT."

So, what do you think?
