Gamers are flying to social media in frustration over why they can't see the Thestrals in Hogwarts Legacy.
Catch an insight into the game here:
It seems a strange desire to have - especially since Luna Lovegood and Harry Potter are the only students able to see the skeletal winged horses due to witnessing someone dying in front of them - with Harry seeing his parents being killed by Lord Voldemort and Luna watching her mother's spell backfire.

However, Hogwarts Legacy players are determined to see it all and make the very most of the game, even if Thestrals hold a rather dark meaning.
But alas, not all have managed to catch sight of one, ride one or even catch one, and many have since flood to Twitter to question why.
One gamer appealing for help to climb atop one of the beautiful yet eerie beasts, tweeted: "Anyone know why I only have two of four mounts, thought I unlocked the Thestral but I cant see where it is."

To which a second user explained you have to 'pre-order the deluxe edition or pay $1.99 (£1.64) for the Thestral DLC,' in order to be in with a chance of catching sight of the reptile-like horse.
However, another wrote: "Hi. I ordered the digital deluxe edition. But my pre order bonuses only seem to be onyx hippogrif and felix felixis. I can't see the dark thestral, or dark arts arena pack. Any help? [sic]"
But one user couldn't help but take to Twitter to share a clip of them riding a Thestral in a not so subtle boast, and another said that they've even managed to breed them.

According to Deltias Gaming, in order to get a glimpse of some Thestrals, you do indeed have to own the Dark Arts Pack of the game which is only included in the Deluxe and Collector Editions.
But fret not if you bought the bog-standard edition, because you'll be able to purchase the pack separately from 10 February.
You then have to make your way successfully through 'The High Keep' quest to unlock the new flying Mounts - such as the Thestral.
However, if you don't just want to just ride a Thestral but also catch one, Mobile Scorner warns its 'quite a challenge' but spells make it 'much easier'.

Scorner's Steve Lynch writes: "For instance, one approach we have used is casting Disillusionment while approaching a Thestral Den, going behind one of the Beasts, then performing the following: Accio, Accio, Levioso, and Nap-Sack.
"[...] We highly recommend you farm your Thestrals in the North Ford Bog instead of Marunweem Lake because of the swamp’s wide open space it provides. Whether they are in the air or on the ground, having ample room to use Spells on the flying Beasts is crucial when it comes to catching Thestrals in Hogwarts Legacy."
