Another member of Johnny Depp's security team has taken to the stand to testify on the actor's drug use amid the ongoing defamation lawsuit.
Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard after she wrote an op-ed piece in 2018 for The Washington Post calling herself a victim of 'sexual violence'. While she didn't mention Depp by name, he has argued her insinuation has cost him his career and reputation.
Heard launched a $100 million countersuit claiming Depp assaulted her on multiple occasions, with the assaults allegedly often taking place after he consumed drugs or alcohol.

The ongoing trial has seen the likes of a forensic psychologist, a doctor and a receptionist take to the stand. The first witness this week is Travis McGivern, who works as part of the Pirates of Caribbean's security team and for Depp personally.
The security guard revealed today (2 May) how many times he's seen Depp take drugs and what effect the drugs appeared to have on the actor's mental state.
McGivern testified he has seen Depp use marijuana 'too many times to count'. "I mean daily," he said.

He also stated that he has seen the 58-year-old use cocaine 'a couple' of times.
The security guard reflected that Depp is 'chill,' 'mellow,' or 'super-mellow' when on marijuana. On cocaine, McGivern testified that he feels like the drug 'levels him [Depp] out'.
McGivern also noted he has only seen Depp drunk once. "Other than that Mr Depp handles his liquor very well," he said.

On the other hand, the security guard testified he has seen Heard drink quite regularly.
However, McGivern reflected he couldn't remember seeing her drunk apart from on the 23 March - but that he couldn't know for sure if she was definitely drunk.
McGivern is one of multiple security guards who have taken to the stand to testify during the trial.

Last week, on 21 April, a member of Depp's security team called Jenkins testified that Heard admitted to him how she left an unexpected surprise in the couple's shared bed in their Los Angeles residence.
Malcolm Connelly, who worked as a security guard for Depp and his former partner Vanessa Paradis, also testified via video link.
Connelly recalled what he saw when accompanying Heard and Depp on their honeymoon, reflecting on a picture he took of the pair and Depp's appearance in it.
The security guard also detailed his account of the 2015 incident which saw Depp's finger severed.

During the trial, Depp has opened up about his battle with drugs.
While he explained coming off opioids was like 'nothing he'd ever experienced before' and detailed how his drug use began at the age of just 11 years old, Depp argued he is 'not some maniac who needs to be high or loaded all the time'.
McGivern also testified he has never seen Depp physically abuse Heard.
