MacKenzie Scott has filed for divorce from her second husband following her separation from Jeff Bezos in 2019.
Scott, who is one of the richest women in the world, lodged the petition relating to her current husband, Dan Jewett, in Washington State on Monday (26 September).
The pair married in March 2021, two years after Scott's divorce from Bezos, and Jewett has since publicly shown his admiration for Scott as he described her as 'one of the most generous and kind people I know'.

In a letter signed by both Jewett and Scott on the Giving Pledge website, the 52-year-old former science teacher added that he was joining Scott in a 'commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others'.
The site is one where billionaires can promise to donate at least half of their wealth before they die.
Scott and Jewett both currently live in King County, Washington State, and the petition filed by Scott stated that terms relating to any division of property would be laid out in a private separation contract agreed by the couple.

According to The New York Times, Jewett did not contest the divorce.
The teacher left his job to join Scott's philanthropic efforts, which inspired Forbes to describe her as 'one of the most prominent philanthropists in the world', who has given away 'at least $12.7 billion (£11.8b)' following her divorce from Bezos.
Scott is currently reported as having a net worth of $34.9b (£32.3b) after she took a 4 percent take in Bezos' company, Amazon, following their divorce.

In a statement regarding her generosity, Jewett explained he had never previously spoken publicly about charitable giving because he had 'never sought to gather the kind of wealth required to feel like saying such a thing would have particular meaning'.
His letter on the Giving Pledge website has been removed amid the petition for divorce.
Their marriage spanned a shorter period than Scott's marriage to Bezos, which lasted more than 25 years.
At the time of their divorce, Bezos tweeted a statement to explain that he and Scott had undergone 'a long period of loving exploration and trial separation' before deciding to divorce and 'continue [their] shared lives as friends'.

"We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other. If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again," Bezos added at the time.
