Mark Zuckerberg has revealed the ‘loving’ nickname his Meta employees gifted him – and we’re not sure he quite understands the meaning.
The Meta CEO has not received the best press over the years, but that hasn’t stopped him from heading up a tech empire.
Granting a rare interview to Tim Ferris on his show The Time Ferriss Show, Zuckerberg opened up about the nickname his employees gave him.

The tech mogul began by explaining how he manages his time and energy in the workplace while facing a fast-paced digital world that constantly bombards everyone with fresh news and information.
“Maybe I’m not strong-willed enough or calm enough to do just straight-up meditation,” Zuckerberg said. “I actually need to put myself in a situation where it’s difficult to not focus on that thing.
“Some of the folks I work with at the company — they say this lovingly — but I think that they sometimes refer to my attention as the Eye of Sauron.”

We’re not sure how that could be meant lovingly...
He continued: “You have this unending amount of energy to go work on something, and if you point that at any given team, you will just burn them.”
For those who are not well-versed in the Lord of the Rings world, the Eye of Sauron represents the looming threat of the Dark Lord’s influence. It was said that very few could endure its tormenting gaze.

Overall, bad things happen when the Eye of Sauron notices you.
His ‘loving’ description now appears somewhat misguided, as we’re not sure the Eye of Sauron can really be seen as a compliment.
Reddit users weighed in on the revelation, as one wrote: “Wow. They love him. You can tell.”
Another revealed: “Fun fact: "Sauron" is Sindarin for "abhorred one". Definitely a nickname you give to your beloved boss.”

A third said: “I'm not surprised he thinks that. Love is difficult for a robot to understand.”
A fourth added: “It's good to know AI still hasn't gained the ability to read the room.”
“Is it possible this was sarcasm, and he knows they’re terrified of him, and making a joke of it?” questioned a fifth person.
