Max Verstappen has left Formula 1 fans confused and amused after he jokingly said he was still a virgin.
He made the comments during a behind the scenes Red Bull video from the Belgian Grand Prix, which he won despite having to start from the back of the grid.
Clearly joking in the video as he smiled and grinned on camera, he said: "I was 18, innocent, a virgin. I'm still a virgin." Watch below:
Some fans were left a little bit confused by this as Verstappen has been in a relationship with Brazilian model Kelly Piquet since 2020.

She's the daughter of three time Formula 1 world champion Nelson Piquet, who had to apologise to Lewis Hamilton after being called out for language directed at the Mercedes driver.
In the video it was clear that Verstappen was obviously not being serious and was messing around for a bit of fun while the cameras were on him.
Plenty of Formula 1 fans found it pretty funny, joking that there's no way Verstappen could be a virgin because he was 'f***ing the whole grid', while someone else said it was because 'he never loses'.

Other fans have taken to social media to dub him 'the virgin king', while another said anyone doubting if he was serious should see how many 'hours he has on iRacing'.
Some didn't seem to pick up on the sarcasm and were pretty confused, with one F1 fan saying 'no no no, this is probably just him messing with us right' while others tried asking him directly what he really meant.
A few just couldn't believe what they were hearing, saying 'who would've thought the topic of conversation at Spa would be Max's virginity', let alone it being Verstappen himself choosing the topic.

As for what's going on on the F1 track, Verstappen is having an absolute stormer after picking up nine wins so far this year, putting him well ahead of everyone else on points.
Verstappen is currently sitting pretty on 284 points, his nearest rival is Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez on 191, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is on 186.
He's on a roll right now having won the last three races, meaning that barring some sort of absolute disaster he ought to clinch yet another world championship title.
It should be mired in far less controversy than his 2021 season finale win, which came in controversial circumstances after he narrowly beat Lewis Hamilton following some questionable decisions from racing director Michael Masi.
