The top 12 billionaires in the world now have a joint net worth of $2 trillion, according to latest data via Forbes.

There are a lot of rich billionaires out there, so it should hardly come as a surprise to see such figure when talking about how much they are worth.

But, according to Forbes, the collective wealth of these particular individuals has since increased massive compared to previous data - which certainly suggests the rich are getting richer.

Compared to the 2020 data from Forbes, the collective fortune of the 12 billionaires has increased by more than $1.3 trillion, or a whopping 193 percent.

Many will perhaps see it as a worrying trend, with the possibility that the figure might increase further over the coming years.

Nonetheless, as per Forbes, here are the top 12 billionaires:

  1. Elon Musk - $244 billion
  2. Jeff Bezos - $197 billion
  3. Mark Zuckerberg - $181 billion
  4. Larry Ellison - $175 billion
  5. Warren Buffett - $150 billion
  6. Larry Page - $136 billion
  7. Sergey Bin - $130 billion
  8. Steve Ballmer - $123 billion
  9. Bill Gates - $107 billion
  10. Michael Bloomberg - $105 billion
  11. Jensen Huang - $104 billion
  12. Michael Dell - $101 billion

Huang is newcomer on the list compared to the 2020 data, replacing Walmart's Alice Walton on the billionaire rich list.

The cofounder and CEO of Nvidia has seen his wealth skyrocket from $4.7 billion in 2020 to a massive $122.4 billion in 2024.

The billionaires list and their combined wealth became the topic of conversation on Reddit, with the vast majority shocked at the staggering figure.

"Fun fact, if you worked really hard at an insanely high paying job of $100 Million dollars a year (more than the CEO of apple made last year), it would only take you 20 THOUSAND years to earn $2 Trillion," one person commented, while another said: "Yup. Over an average career (40 years, 50 weeks/year, 50hr/week), to get to $1b earned, it would take an average pay of $10,000/hr."

Some of the billionaires on this list have also been included on the celebrity leaderboard for private jet usage in 2024.

According to CelebrityPrivateJetTracker.com, Musk was second on the list, with one of the Tesla founder's plane coming in second place after taking a total of 320 flights during 2024.

The full top ten list is:

  1. Eric Schmidt
  2. Elon Musk (plane one)
  3. Kim Kardashian
  4. P. Diddy
  5. Travis Scott
  6. Jay Z
  7. Luke Bryan
  8. Michael Bloomberg (plane one)
  9. Bill Gates (plane one)
  10. Bill Gates (plane two)

The leaderboard went viral thanks to yet another Reddit post, which included one user describing it as 'shocking'.
