A Canadian paramedic has shared her anger after she unknowingly treated her own daughter in a car crash that left her unrecognisable.
Jayme Erickson endured every parent's worst nightmare on 15 November, when her daughter Montana was involved in a horrific car crash that ultimately claimed her life.
The mum from Alberta, Canada, was working that day when she was called to the scene of the collision that saw her daughter trapped within a vehicle.

The person in the vehicle was in a critical condition and the paramedic naturally did her job until an air ambulance arrived.
Not realising that she had just treated her own daughter in what were some of the last moments of her life, Jayme returned home oblivious.
But shortly after she arrived, The Royal Canadian Mountain Police came to her home to tell her that her daughter had been involved in a serious accident.

She subsequently took to Facebook to share her anger that she could not have been with her daughter longer as she fought for her life.
The mum wrote on Facebook: "The critically injured patient I had just attended to was my own flesh and blood. My only child. My mini-me. My daughter, Montana.
"Her injures were so horrific I did not even recognise her."
When she got to the hospital to see Montana, Jayme was given the devastating news that she would not survive the accident.

"I cannot help but be angry for the short amount of time I was given with her," the heartbroken mum continued.
The mum went on to express her anger and heartbreak at all the life milestones that she could never get to see her daughter experience.
"[Seventeen] years was not long enough," she wrote. "Although I am thankful for the 17 years I had with her, I am shattered and left wondering. What would you have become my baby girl? Who would you have been?

"I will never see you graduate and walk across the stage, I will never see you get married, I will never know who you would have been."
Montana died on the day of Jayme's post, and she spoke of her heartbreak at their goodbye.
"Today we officially said goodbye to my little girl," she wrote on 19 November.
The heartbroken mum went on: "I love you more than anything in this world (yes, including the goats my girl!). I will cherish the memories we made and the time we had together.

"I am shattered. I am broken. I am missing a piece of me. I am left to pick up the pieces and expected to carry on."
A GoFundMe has now been set up to help Montana's family with her funeral costs.
