Rapper 6ix9ine is facing fierce backlash for handing out $50,000 in cash to a random family and recording it on camera.

The 25-year-old American rapper - real name Daniel Hernandez, formally known as Tekashi69 - recently came under fire for flaunting his wealth on Instagram, counting out his millions while sat on top of one of his multiple sports cars.

Despite since donating a chunk of his cash to a random family in Mexico, 6ix9ine has faced intense backlash and has been accused of jeopardising the family's welfare.

Take a look at his video below:

Addressing the camera, 6ix9ine explained how he'd vowed to give out $50,000 (one million pesos) 'every week to somebody completely random'.

He continued: "I'm on my way to the airport. I'm leaving Mexico. I have stopped by here, where I see this."

Pointing to a small residence on the side of the road, he reflected on how many people in Mexico 'live in these conditions'.

"We're going to give this random family a million dollars," he said.

The video tracks the rapper entering the house, introducing himself in Spanish before handing a man the money, telling him it's for his family.

The man appears confused, before telling 6ix9ine that he doesn't understand.

After realising the money is a gift, the man can be seen bursting into tears and hugging his children.

Despite the generous act, 6ix9ine has been accused of putting 'the entire family in serious danger'.

The rapper got out of the car on his way to the airport to hand $50,000 to a random family.

"Robbed in 69 seconds," one Redditor commented, while another wrote: "How to get a family killed 101."

"They gonna soon be killed and robbed their money. The rapper got money but not brain. Why did he show their face? Such an idiot!" a third agreed.

One user suggested the rapper should have 'at least blurred their faces' in his Instagram video while another condemned the rapper's actions as simply being 'for clout'. "All for clout. Nothing else," they said.

"He's definitely doing this as a PR stunt, otherwise why record it," another echoed.

One user argued that the act was still a good deed, but that there are 'more effective ways to help people with that money and not make it a publicity stunt'.

6ix9ine has been accused of making the family more susceptible to being 'robbed' or even 'killed' for recording them while giving them $50,000.

A final resolved: "Do your good deeds and don’t brag about it on social media dummy. You just handed that guy a s**t ton of money, exposed his face for millions to see and then left him unprotected from gangs and cartel members who now know exactly where to find an easily confiscated 1,000,000 pesos. Just do the good deeds and keep them between you and God. That’s how they’re supposed to be done in the first place."
