People are complaining about the design of Apple’s Magic Mouse, with one person saying the company ‘should've thrown that design in the garbage’. Yikes.
The kerfuffle kicked off over on Reddit, when one user expressed their frustration over the fact that in order to charge their mouse, they had to plug it in.
The catch? The charging port is located on the bottom of the mouse, rendering it totally useless while it’s getting juiced up.

Posting a snap of their mouse, Reddit user Bes1208 wrote: “A few minutes after starting my work day, I get a notification that my mouse needs to be charged. Only charges underneath, making the mouse unusable while it charges. Thanks Apple.”
Equally frustrated messages quickly started to flood the comment section, with one person writing: “Yes, that is super frustrating,” while another added: “You know if a company makes a great product but does something completely illogical like putting a charging port on the bottom, they are just f*****g with you.”
“Just made for people who only want Apple stuff because ThEy ArE pReTtY,” quipped a third person, with a fourth noting: “Apple is a great brand. It's too expensive for what you got, but it works fine. That being said, I don't understand why they designed this mouse.”

A fifth social media user pointed out: “I hate it too, it’s ridiculously dumb but 5 mins of charge is good for hours.”
UNILAD has approached Apple for comment.
Apple has never officially explained why it made the decision to place the Lightning port on the bottom of its Magic Mouse range - which has been around since 2015.

However, product design is one of the brand’s biggest selling points, so the move is most likely intentional.
As other Redditors pointed out in the comment section beneath Bes1208’s post, each charge lasts for a significant amount of time, and Apple has even claimed in the past that their Magic Mouses stay juiced for up to a month per charge.
Meanwhile, over in Cupertino, the company is gearing up for the launch of the new iPhone 14.
Earlier this week, Apple sent out media invitations to an event in September where the company is expected to make a huge announcement about a new iPhone model, as well as Apple Watch Series 8.

The tech company will be hosting the event on Wednesday, 7 September at Apple Park in California.
