A staggering graphic has been released showing just how close Donald Trump was to a catastrophic brain injury.

The former president Donald Trump was the victim of an assassination attempt on Saturday (July 13), after he was shot in the upper part of his ear.

But a new graphic has been released which shows just how different the situation could have been, if he didn’t turn his head at just the right moment.

The 78-year-old was at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when the gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, fired multiple bullets at him from a nearby roof.

Crooks was quickly shot by the Secret Service after the incident.

One person in the crowd wasn’t as lucky as the former president, however, as 50-year-old Corey Comperatore died after attempting to shield his wife and two daughters from the gunshots.

Two other men were critically injured in the ordeal, but are said to now be in a 'stable condition'.

After seeing a graphic of how close the bullet was to going through Trump's head, people are saying 'God was on his side' after a last minute head tilt likely saved his life.

The graphic shows a bird-eye-view of his head, showing exactly where the bullet was going until Trump tilted his head towards a screen to the side of him, consequently saving his life.

People on X couldn’t believe how miniscule the difference was, one said: “It’s actually really crazy to think that just by turning his head it actually saved his life.”

Another said: “We would be living in a whole new different timeline right now.”

Writing an emotional tribute on social media following the assassination attempt, the Republican presidential candidate said: “We will fear not, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness.

"Our love goes out to the other victims and their families.

“We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed.”

Trump has now been seen following the tragic attack at the Republican national convention in Milwaukee, wearing a bandage on the ear that had been fired at.

He received a roar of applause from the crowd, who chanted ‘fight’ as the former president did following the shooting.

Republican senator Tim Scott of South Carolina said of the attack: “If you didn’t believe in miracles before Saturday, you better be believing right now.

“A devil came to Pennsylvania holding a rifle, but a lion got back on his feet and he roared.”
