Donald Trump has announced secondary tariffs for Venezuela and every country that purchases two specific goods from them.
Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, the POTUS has revealed 'secondary tariffs' will be applied to two goods from Venezuela 'for numerous reasons.'
Trump cited reasons from immigration to crime for the hefty 25 per cent tariffs sanctions, alleging that the South American country has 'purposefully and deceitfully' sent thousands of supposed 'undercover' gang criminals and 'murderers' to the US.

Not only is he planning on inflicting the tariff to Venezuela but says he will also impose a 25 percent tariff on countries that purchase oil and gas from the country, which he said will take effect as soon as April 2.
The move come as Trump vowed to revoke the licence that historically permitted Venezuela to export some of its oil to the US in a major economic blow to the country in February this year, reports BBC.
Trump wrote today (Monday, March 24): "President Donald J. Trump announced today that the United States of America will be putting what is known as a Secondary Tariff on the Country of Venezuela, for numerous reasons, including the fact that Venezuela has purposefully and deceitfully sent to the United States, undercover, tens of thousands of high level, and other, criminals, many of whom are murderers and people of a very violent nature."

He continued: "Among the gangs they sent to the United States, is Tren de Aragua, which has been given the designation of 'Foreign Terrorist Organization.'"
Trump said the US is planning on deporting them to Venezuela but admitted it is a 'big task.'

Earlier this month, more than 250 alleged criminals with supposed links to the Venezuelan criminal organization, Tren de Aragua, were sent to the infamous El Salvador mega-jail under a rare 18th-century wartime legislation.

"In addition, Venezuela has been very hostile to the United States and the Freedoms which we espouse," Trump continued. "Therefore, any Country that purchases Oil and/or Gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay a Tariff of 25% to the United States on any Trade they do with our Country.
"All documentation will be signed and registered, and the Tariff will take place on April 2nd, 2025, LIBERATION DAY IN AMERICA. Please let this notification serve to represent that the Department of Homeland Security, Border Patrol, and all other Law Enforcement Agencies within our Country have been so notified. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Venezuelan Vice-President Delcy Rodríguez has previously warned US sanctions had led to a spike in its citizens crossing US borders, as per the BBC.
Meanwhile, Trump doesn't appear to be giving up on his trade war with partners, Canada, China, Mexico or the European Union any time soon either.
