Elon Musk has been discussing his hopes for 'zero tariffs' between the US and Europe, which goes against measures implemented by President Donald Trump.
Earlier this week, Trump spoke in the Rose Garden of the White House as a part of 'Liberation Day' and stated that new tariffs will be inflicted upon not only the country's trading partners, but on countries across the world in a bid to free the US from depending on foreign goods.
China, Mexico, Canada and the European Union have been at the forefront of the trade war with the country, after Trump decided to hike taxes by 25 percent on many of their goods coming into the US.

While Musk may head up Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), it doesn't mean the Tesla founder agrees with the president on everything.
And tariffs introduced on the EU is seemingly where the pair are in disagreement, with Musk revealing recently how he hopes for 'zero tariffs' between the US and Europe.
Speaking on a video-link interview with Matteo Salvini, Italy’s deputy prime minister, Musk said: "At the end of the day, I hope it’s agreed that both Europe and the United States should move ideally, in my view, to a zero-tariff situation, effectively creating a free-trade zone between Europe and North America.

"That's what I hope occurs, and also more freedom of people to move between Europe and North America if they wish, if they wish to work in Europe or wish to work in America, they should be allowed to do so, in my view. So that has certainly been my advice to the president."
Speaking to the nation on Wednesday (April 2), Trump remained adamant his tariff plan is what's best for America.
He said: "This is Liberation Day. We've been waiting for a long time, April 2, 2025, will forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn, the day America's destiny was reclaimed, and the day that we began to 'Make America Wealthy Again.'"

He continued: "For decades our country has been looted, pillaged, raped and plundered from nations, near and far, from both friend and foe alike."
Trump said the country once had an 'American dream that you don't hear so much about,' before announcing 'reciprocal tariffs on countries throughout the world'.
"They do it so us, and we do it to them. Doesn't get much simpler than that."
