Ella Emhoff, the stepdaughter of Democrat candidate Kamala Harris, has shared a health update after rumors were being circulated about her having a ‘breakdown’.
The activist was seen crying after Harris lost her presidential claim to Donald Trump earlier this week, who will become America's 47th president in January 2025.
Emhoff - whose father is Douglas Emhoff, Harris' husband - went on to post an image of herself crying alongside her family and campaign employees, but many online sparked cruel rumors that she had been checked into a mental health facility in light of the loss.

The 25-year-old’s rumor first began on Twitter, as users shared her image and told the story of her mental health struggles. However, Emhoff has now come out to set the record straight.
On Saturday, November 10, the fashion designer posted on Instagram an image of herself with a ball in her hand with her little dog waiting patiently for her to throw it.
She wrote over the image: “There's a rumor about me having a mental breakdown and getting checked into a hospital. Not true. Also f**k you if you're out there spreading that. There's nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. Anyone who says there is probably needs a good cry.

“I've struggled with my mental health my whole life and I'm not ashamed of it.”
To prove that she’s not having a breakdown since the Republican won the election, she claimed: “I've literally just been here playing fetch with [my dog] Jerry.”
When the rumor was in full force, Emhoff’s mother, Kerstin Emhoff, slated those spreading the fake news on Twitter, writing: “More MAGA bs against my family. Leave my kids alone!!! Ella is doing great and spending a lovely day with her mom!

“Having the ability to show your emotions is something we should all hope for. It's ok to not feel great right now. We aren't letting anyone break our family down.”
On Friday, Emhoff wrote a post about how she’s been coping since the election results, stating: “Truly no words. We are all gonna get through this. It just f**king hurts like a b**ch right now and that's ok.”
On the same day she went on to urge her followers to fight back against Trump.
She wrote: “The fight doesn't stop now. Just please check in on your people right now. This is the time to organize, mobilize, and make a difference in your communities big or small. I'm here for you all and love you guys.”

As for Harris, she waited until the day after the election results to deliver her concession speech.
“To my beloved Doug and our family, I love you so very much”, she said to the crowd.
Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff kept his arm around his daughter and son during the speech, and patted Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, Harris’ running mate.

Waltz appeared to have been holding back tears during her speech in which she thanked him and his family for all they had done on the campaign.
While the pair did well in the election, the voters of America clearly chose who they thought would bring the best outcome for their country.
