A pregnant woman in Texas used the recent reversal of Roe V Wade to try a get out of a ticket.

Brandy Bottone, who is 34 weeks pregnant was speeding to get her son from school in a lane typically reserved for multiple passengers.

Officers asked Brandy why she was using the lane, to which she argued that her and her unborn baby should count as multiple passengers, given the recent overturning of Roe V Wade.

Brandy argued that her and her unborn baby counted as two people under law.

The news comes as the landmark case was over turned by the Supreme Court, leaving women in the US without a basic right to choose.

And, honestly, good for Brandy trying to make the best out of an awful situation, as she told The Dallas Morning News about the incident: "I was driving to pick up my son. I knew I couldn't be a minute late, so I took the HOV lane.

"As I exited the HOV, there was a checkpoint at the end of the exit. I slammed on my brakes, and I was pulled over by police. An officer peeked in and asked, 'Is there anybody else in the car?"

She went on to point her stomach and argue: "My baby girl is right here. She is a person."

Responding to this, Brandy said: "One officer kind of brushed me off when I mentioned this is a living child, according to everything that's going on with the overturning of Roe v. Wade. 'So I don't know why you're not seeing that,' I said."

The officer went on to say: "I don't want to deal with this" before adding: "Ma'am, it means two persons outside of the body."

Funny that law enforcement don't consider a foetus to be a separate person, but the Supreme Court do - maybe that officer should've been presiding rather than the officials that overturned a case that protects women's basic right to health care.

The mother told local journalists about the incident.

While the officer went on to say: "If you fight it [the ticket], it will most likely get dropped."

Brandy was still given a fine, saying: "So my $215 ticket was written to cause inconvenience? This has my blood boiling. How could this be fair? According to the new law, this is a life!"

To be fair, it's a dumb law, but she's not wrong.

She added: "If a foetus is considered a life before birth, then why doesn't that count as a second passenger?"

UNILAD has reached out to the Texas Police for comment.
