Robert De Niro has attended the funeral of his grandson Leandro in New York City.
The teenager tragically died last Sunday (July 2), after being sold pills laced with fentanyl, according to his mother.
Prior to his untimely passing, the 19-year-old had been following in his grandfather’s footsteps and had appeared in 2018’s A Star Is Born.

Sadly, Leandro’s career was cut short, leaving loved ones to mourn the young man.
His funeral was held at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel on Manhattan's Upper East Side, with family and friends in attendance.
This included his grandfather De Niro, Robert's girlfriend Tiffany Chen and their three-month-old daughter Gia – who was born on April 6.

Joining the Academy Award winner was his eldest daughter and Leonardo’s mother, Drena De Niro, as well as his co-stars Christopher Walken, Harvey Keitel and Michael Imperioli.
There was then a wake for Leandro at the chapel, which has also held service to commemorate the likes of John Lennon, Heath Ledger and The Notorious B.I.G. after their passing.
The family have also given separate tributes to the 19-year-old after his untimely death, earlier this month.

Taking to Instagram, his mother announced his sudden death with an emotional tribute on the platform, which read: "My beautiful sweet angel, I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life."
She continued: "I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you. I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama. You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you."
It concluded: "Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my darling boy."
De Niro also gave a heartbreaking statement to Fox News, after his grandson tragic passing.

The Goodfellas star told press: "I’m deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo. We’re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo."
Following Leandro's passing, the New York Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information (DCPI) said that they had found a young man unconscious and unresponsive but said that a cause of death would be determined by the medical examiner's office.
The DCPI refused to comment on whether the case or any suspects were being investigated in relation to the death.
