A close friend of Depp, Josh Richman, has said that Robert Downy Jr. celebrated the win with a FaceTime call shortly after the verdict was announced.

A spokesperson confirmed to the New York Post that Depp was ‘stoic’ in a hotel room in the UK while his friends and fellow staff members surrounded him, crying and screaming, when the jury decision came to light.
According to Richman, guitarist Jeff Beck even held his middle finger up to the television screen as the verdict was about to be read out.
Richman also stated to the Post that Depp did not intend for his ex-girlfriend, Kate Moss, to testify during the case, but was then called upon after the other party - Heard - mentioned the model during her testimony.

The British supermodel, who dated Depp in the 1990s for a period of around four years, appeared in court via video link from Gloucestershire during the trial.
She was called in by Depp's legal team because Heard described a rumour that Depp had pushed Moss down a flight of stairs on the witness stand.
After Heard made the comment, as shown on online viral video footage, Depp's legal team were seen appearing to celebrate.

Benjamin Chew asked the model whether Depp had ever pushed her down stairs while they were in a relationship.
"No, he never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs," Moss replied, before adding: "And I screamed because I didn't know what had happened to me and I was in pain.
"And he [Depp] came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention."
