An NBC News interview was interrupted by Russian missile strikes on the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, providing a detailed account of what it is like to live in a city under bombardment during Vladimir Putin's invasion.
NBC News' Ali Arouzi was in the city speaking to former MSNBC analyst Malcolm Nance, who joined Ukraine's legion of foreign fighters in the aftermath of the Russian invasion.
During the interview, something flying overhead could be heard which Nance identified as a cruise missile fired as part of a barrage from the Russian bombardment.

Nance's experience allowed him to track the attack live on-air and update Arouzi on exactly what was going to happen with further missile strikes in the vicinity.
Nance is a former naval officer and counterterrorism expert who made the choice to travel to Ukraine and fight against Putin's invasion.
According to The Independent, he signed up about a month ago and said he was 'very touched' to see that other foreign volunteers were 'here for the right reasons'.

He said: "The more I saw of the war going on, the more I thought, I’m done talking, all right?
"It’s time to take action here. I am here to help this country fight what essentially is a war of extermination.
"This is an existential war and Russia has brought it to these people and they are mass murdering civilians, and there are people here like me who are here to do something about it," he added.

He also called for US president Joe Biden to supply the Ukrainian military with heavy weapons to counter the Russian's long range artillery, which Putin's troops are using to bomb cities and civilians.
It is now day 60 of the Russian invasion which has left thousands dead and forced more than five million people to flee the country.
Ukraine has successfully repelled Russian attacks on the capital city of Kyiv while Putin's troops have refocused their efforts on taking the Donbas region in the east.

Per The Guardian, Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of burying thousands of civilians in mass graves in an attempt to conceal their actions in occupied territories.
