Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has apologised after photos of two topless influencers kissing at her official residence started doing the social media rounds.
It’s been a prickly week for Marin, who previously came under fire after private footage of her partying with friends was leaked online, which you can watch below:
While we’d take a PM with a penchant for busting moves over one who broke his own Covid laws any day, apparently not everyone feels the same.

Outcry from Marin’s opposition politicians forced her to confirm she’d willingly take a drugs test, which came back negative.
She said in response to criticism: “I have nothing to hide. I have never taken drugs. Personally, I did not take drugs, nor did I consume anything other than alcohol.
“I danced, sang, and partied – perfectly legal things. And I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve seen or known of others [using drugs].”

This week, Marin was once again throwing ‘sorrys’ around like candy, this time because two acquaintances were caught on camera locking lips at her residence after attending a festival last month.
Reflecting on the snap, Marin told reporters on Tuesday (23 August): “In my opinion, the picture is not appropriate. I apologise for it.
"That kind of a picture should not have been taken, but otherwise, nothing extraordinary happened at the get-together."
Model Sabina Särkkä, 33, was identified as one of the women in the photo, and she also issued an apology, saying: “On 10.7 I published an inappropriate picture that should have been left out. I deeply regret and apologise for my behaviour.”

Speaking on 18 August to Finland’s public broadcaster YLE, Marin said that while she was disappointed the original video found its way online, she hadn’t done anything wrong.
She explained: "I have a family life, I have a work life and I have free time to spend with my friends. Pretty much the same as many people my age.
"I am going to be exactly the same person as I have been until now and I hope that it will be accepted.”

Marin, who is 36 and has been Finland’s Prime Minister since 2019, is one of the youngest heads of governments in the world, along with Chile’s President Gabriel Boric, also 36, and Montenegro’s 36-year-old Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.
