Peter Crombie's ex-wife confirmed on social media that the actor had passed away aged 71.
Crombie has been acting since the late 80s and was a fan favorite in the iconic TV sitcom Seinfeld, for his role as 'Crazy' Joe Davola.
Nadine Kijner, Crombie’s ex-wife, released a tribute to the late star on Instagram on Wednesday (January 10) and messages from flans have also flooded social media.

“It is with shock and extreme sadness that I share my Ex-husband died this morning. Thank you for so many wonderful memories and being such a good man,” she wrote in the post.
“Fly free into the Un-boundless source of light, Peter. May you be greeted with love by your parents, and Oliver.

Kijner also spoke to TMZ about Crombie's death and said he had a brief illness but did not give additional details regarding what it was.
Friend of Crombie and comedian Lewis Black praised the actor for the positive impact he had on his life.
Posting on X, he wrote: “I am heartbroken by the death of my good friend Peter Crombie. He was a gifted artist. Not only was he a wonderful actor but an immensely talented writer. More importantly he was as sweet as he was intelligent, and I am a better person for knowing him.”

Film director Jay Russell also shared his own tribute on social media.
“RIP to my friend Peter Crombie who was a wonderful, caring, gracious man, and fabulous actor. Peter granted me his great talent, playing the 'bad guy' in 'My Dog Skip' and did a perfect job of scaring dog lovers around the world. I hope he is at peace now. Happy trails, maestro,” he penned on X.
Fans have also been offering their condolences and posting tributes to Crombie.
“R.I.P. Peter Crombie, a character actor who popped up in so many indelible movies (The Blob, Seven, Safe, Natural Born Killers), on Deep Space Nine, and most importantly, as Crazy Joe Davola on Seinfeld,” one wrote.
