Women are using new 6-6-6 dating rule to find the absolute perfect match

It's less specific than looking for a man in finance with a trust fund, who's 6ft5in and has blue eyes, but still just as unachievable

There's a dating rule known as the '6-6-6' rule and it's causing quite the stir online.

You may've been jokingly singing about how you're looking for a man in finance with a trust fund who's 6ft5in and has blue eyes, but some women actually have a very specific rule of thumb they follow when it comes to finding their 'perfect' man.

And no 6-6-6 doesn't relate to any sort of cult, clan or spiritual manifestation.

The 6-6-6 dating rule

The 6-6-6 dating rule has reared its head on many social media platforms.

Channeling a similar energy to Billen Ted, David Guetta, and Girl On Couch's song, the rule sees women look for a man 'who is a 666' a.k.a. is 'six feet tall' has 'six pack' abs alongside a 'six-figure income'.

And it's certainly received a divided response online, although, you may be surprised to learn many women back it, one woman from New York telling The Post: "Money's nice. A private jet sweetens the deal."

Unsurprisingly, the rule is pretty hard to actually abide by and dating app Flirtini discovered, as per The Post, around 80 percent of women ultimately admitted they'd be open to lowering their standards in a bid to actually find a match.

And dating expert Blaine Anderson has also addressed the issue on her website 'Dating by Blaine'.

The issue

The dating expert resolved the rule is ultimately 'bulls**t'.

While the dating expert doesn't deny women 'tend to like tall guys' alongside 'guys with money' and 'fit guys' - i.e. with 'an athletic physique' - she added 'none of these traits [are] a requirement for most women'.

She explained: "If she could design her perfect partner in a laboratory... she might pick tall, rich, and fit. But women don’t date guys designed in laboratories."

And Blaine notes she believes it's actually men who 'worry' about the supposed 6-6-6 rule 'more than women' actually do.

One man even decided to break down the rule - statistically of course.

The reality

In a hilarious post from a site called 'Diving in the Shallow End' - which lists the three sixes rule as being six-figure income, six-feet tall and six-inch penis opposed to six-pack abs - a man revealed the height distribution of men aged 20-30 in the USA reveals 'being six-feet or great[er] is actually pretty rare' and 'a six-inch weiner is even rarer than being six-feet tall'.

The data basically resolves the chances of finding a man who meets all three criteria is near impossible.

It resolves: "In a gaggle of 100 suitors, it's actually unlikely that a single one will meet all three criteria. Perfection. We now have a truly unreasonable set of standards by which to choose our dating partner."

Ultimately, the rule is as toxic, stupid and impossible for men as it is for women.

And the man who dived deep into the 'dumb' data notes he's 'pretty far from six feet' and yet is 'happily married' - so there's hope for the rest of us yet.
