A divorce lawyer has offered advice on which five professions women should avoid when looking for a husband.
Taking to her TikTok account, the attorney, who goes by ‘KK’ on the app, shared her insights with her 152,000 followers, noting her videos don't offer 'legal advice', but are rather based on experience.
She came up with the idea after remembering a moment when she was given a statistic of professions to avoid by a fellow female attorney when she first started practising family law.
The TikToker - who goes by @jettiegirl28 on the platform - explained: “Over the course of my career, I've watched my most difficult cases. And shockingly, many of them involve men in these five professions.”

Before we get into it, KK herself warned that if you are married to someone in one of these jobs, that doesn’t mean your husband falls into this trend.
“I'm sure there's outliers and any kind of statistic,” she said. “But just for fun, this is just generally speaking something that I've observed as being pretty common. What I noticed among these five professions is that they tend to be more narcissistic, they tend to be more controlling, and when I tell you the professions, you're going to see why.”
KK continued, “They tend to be far more difficult in dealing with a divorce. They have kind of a ‘nuke the earth, you know, scorch the earth, how dare you challenge me’ kind of approach to litigation.”

Now that’s out of the way, let’s get into it - the top five professions to avoid in a husband, based on her experience and in no particular order.
First up, she mentions firemen, something she ‘never really understood’, but it’s up there, followed by police officer, military, surgeon, and pilot – funnily enough, these are all pretty common professions people want to go into when they’re kids.
Pondering why men in these roles tend to be her most difficult cases, KK said: “If you look at these professions, what do they all have in common? They all have in common that the men in these professions, they’re gods in their profession, right?
“You're a policeman, you're walking around with a gun, you're walking around with authority. If you're a surgeon, you're walking around the hospital – everybody looks up to you, you're in charge, everybody treats you with respect. And then you come home and all of a sudden somebody's asking you to take out the trash. I think that that's a difficult kind of transition to make.

“Pilots, especially, when you look at pilots you cross over to the Air Force, military. They're in control of like 150-200 people's lives at a time. They are treated with a tremendous amount of respect, and they have a lot of responsibility. And they tend to be very narcissistic and very controlling.”
She concluded by saying: "I'm sure there are definitely great ones in these professions, but it just tends to be a theme that I see. So [I’m] curious to hear the feedback on that.”
You can bet there was some serious feedback, with thousands of people taking to the comments section to share their experiences.

“My brother (a cop) told me to never marry a cop (I didn’t listen) in the process of getting divorced,” wrote one user, while another said, “All the pilots that my friends dated cheated.”
Another commented: “Divorced a surgeon and I can confirm this is true.”
Others shared some other professions to add to the list, including this person who wrote, “I would add personal trainers lol,” with another stating, “You need to put investment bankers on the list. Very smart, money makers, narcissistic.”
