Woman who married herself receives over a thousand proposals just weeks after her divorce

A model claims she's received over 1,000 marriage proposals since divorcing herself.

Yes, divorcing herself. Model Suellen Carey first hit headlines for getting married to herself but alas, the path of true love never did run smooth and she ended up getting 'fed' up of herself.

Thankfully, the 36-year-old claims that she's since had flocks of marriage proposals come her way since announcing her separation from herself.

Despite marrying herself in a bid to celebrate self love and reviewing the experience as 'beautiful,' Suellen admitted being with herself 'had its challenges'.

"I thought I would love it, but in the end, loneliness weighed heavier than I expected," she continued. "Being in a relationship with only myself was more difficult than I imagined."

Ultimately, she had enough and so decided to divorce herself, however, it would be appear while Suellen was navigating her relationship with herself and deciding to bring the union to an end, a trail of suitors were lining up in wait.

In a video shared to her Instagram profile, Suellen said that she's received around 1,500 marriage proposals.

The caption reads: "I never imagined that, when I divorced myself, so many unexpected things would happen. Receiving marriage proposals from people around the world was something that really surprised me."

She added to What's The Jam that she's also received over '30 bouquets' of flowers to her house in the 'past few days' and is 'shocked' by all the attention.

"I never imagined that by announcing the end of my sologamy, I would attract so many potential suitors from around the world.

"I am now more in demand than the nights of London. I don't even know where to put all the bouquets."

The model also reflected that when she married herself, it was 'to celebrate self-love and self-knowledge', but she realized it was time to 'follow new paths'.

She resolved: "This experience showed that self-love is the basis of any relationship - and love between two people only makes sense when we are truly ready.

"[...] When you truly get to know yourself, you realise that being in a relationship only makes sense when you're fully prepared for it.

"I am now a lot more selective. But I also feel ready for a relationship with someone else."
