Shaq Barrett speaks out for first time since two-year-old daughter drowned in family swimming pool

Shaq Barrett's young daughter, Arrayah, tragically died last month

Shaq Barrett has shared a gut-wrenching tribute to his daughter following her tragic death.

Arrayah was just two years old when she drowned in their family swimming pool last month.

Police were called to the scene at around 9.30am on 30 April following reports that a toddler had fallen into a pool.

Arrayah, who had only recently celebrated her second birthday a couple of weeks earlier, was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Now, Shaq, who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has shared a heartbreaking post about his young daughter.

In a video of the pair of them together, the 30-year-old can be seen filming a special message for his wife, Jordanna, and tries to get Arrayah to say 'miss you' before blowing a kiss.

He captioned the post: "I miss you sooo much baby girl. I love you please watch over us."

Since sharing the intimate moment on his Instagram account, fans and followers have piled into the comments to share their condolences.

One user said: "Love you brother."

Another wrote: "Praying for you and yours."

"So so sorry," put a third.

While someone else added: "Love you bro praying for you."

Jordanna also commented on the clip, writing: "We love you forever and ever babygirl. Until we meet again my baby!"

This comes after Jordanna also posted her own beautiful tribute to her little girl.

Alongside a photo of Arrayah celebrating her recent birthday, Jordanna wrote: "Our world will never be the same. Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers.

"I love you so much my baby. I am so so sorry. Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always.

"I can't wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything. There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here, until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and always."

Following news of Arrayah's tragic death, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also paid their respects in a statement.

It read: "Today’s tragic news is heartbreaking for all members of the Buccaneers family.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time.

"While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah."
