Social media users are flooding to weigh in after a woman revealed her 'terrible' secret Santa gift and what she bought for her co-worker instead.
Ah Christmas, a time for generosity and giving. Alas, one worker wasn't really feeling the festive spirit or forgot about the secret Santa altogether and had to scramble to get something sorted, causing their fellow employee to have a pretty 'horrible day' as a result.
Twitter user Dushmanoevsky took to the platform to reveal what they'd got in their secret Santa.

The post - shared December 20 - reads: "Having such a horrible day and my secret santa gift just arrived and it's so terrible i burst into tears when i opened the package."
In the thread, the user explained they're 'the lowest paid person' at the company and 'still put more effort than this'.
Another comment even saw them say: "I feel incredibly stupid for dishing out 1k on a gift because idk how much you're supposed to spend."
However, in another post they said they 'got a bath and body works gift set for a woman' noting they knew they'd love it because they'd have 'loved receiving one' themselves.

But how bad could what they received really be?
Yup. A 'Merry Christmas' notepad and a very small one at that.
And it's not taken long for others to weigh in, many with their own secret Santa horror stories.

A user wrote: "RIGHT the dude mentioned he liked headphones so i got the best thing i could find under 2-3k and then i got a stupid little pen stand as a gift 'to fuel your artistic nature'. Never done another work secret santa after that."
"Mine gifted me 4 packets of chips, one sling bag, and that sling bag further had 4 items of makeup (lip gloss, lipstick, kajal n nailpaint)," another added.
A third suggested: "There should be a lower and upper limit on gift price."
And others couldn't help but find the whole thing hilarious.

One noted: "I feel really bad that i found this a bit funny and it made me laugh. Pls I’m so sorry. I hope you have a better weekend ahead of you."
"I’m sorry for laughing this is so funny," a second wrote.
Although, a final simply resolved: "This is precisely why I don't participate in them."
