Son Returns From Military Service To Awkwardly Find Parents In Bed (Caters)

A son hoping to surprise his parents when he got back from military service got more than he bargained for when he burst through their bedroom door.

There are many things in life that people don't agree on, whether it be films, music taste or pineapple on pizza, but one thing that needs no argument is that you should never have to see your parents being intimate. I'm not talking a comforting hug or a cheeky kiss – I'm talking NSFW intimacy; the kind that should only take place behind closed doors.

Most people will happily go through life without ever having to think about their parents getting it on, but 20-year-old Joseph quickly lost that luxury when he returned home from Germany after completing military service.

Check out what happened below:

Joseph had been away for two-and-a-half years before he returned to Colorado, US to surprise his parents. Of course, there are countless viral videos that show soldiers returning from service to surprise their loved ones, and most of the time it goes pretty well.

The 20-year-old was obviously hoping to recreate one of these heartfelt moments when he arrived at his mum's home, but unfortunately things didn't quite go to plan.

Footage shows Joseph making his way up the stairs while wearing a face mask before reaching a closed door. Watching the video it seems clear now that Joseph should have probably thought twice about bursting in without so much of a knock, but as we all know, hindsight's 20/20.

Instead, his bid to take his parents by surprise quickly went downhill as he opened the door and jokingly shouted, 'This is a robbery!', only to then realise what he was seeing.

Joseph began laughing as he quickly retreated from the room, while his parents could be heard screaming and laughing in the background. The camera thankfully didn't get a glimpse of mum-of-three Kaati Pena and her husband, Richard, but Joseph's reaction said it all as he moved away down the corridor.

I suppose there's no denying that Joseph surprised his parents, but I can imagine they would have preferred to have been in a less compromising position when they greeted their son for the first time in two-and-a-half years. It's unclear exactly what took place after Joseph burst in on the couple, but hopefully they were able to have the reunion he'd anticipated in the end!
